Fairey OD

Looking for a little help on Fairey OD on 1970 IIa
The OD runs fine no issues but the other day would not engage in a normal routine could feel the gears out of speed with each other so did not push it
Put in gear and started in 1st, 2, 3 & 4 to see if extra noise all normal
When in OD came out like normal in 4th with clutch in
Was planning on changing oil anyway to see if anything in it, all good nothing
Put in Redline MT90 synthetic
Used this in Jag moss box and it fixed the weak synchro in 2nd and took literally all the 1st gear whine out, was impressed
So good for a Jag must be fine for a LR
No real difference to shifting but way quieter
So I did a few tests and came up with the OD would shift OK to engage up to 20mph but not over
Tried starting in normal in 1st and shift to 2nd, engage OD and left in, in both 3rd and 4th
On the flat I start in 2nd usually
My conclusion is the problem is synchro related
Question
1) is there any shims or setup that would affect this?
2) if not, is the synchro hub the issue or the three tabs & springs
3) or get the whole kit, all bearing etc and do the whole thing which does not incl the Synchro Hub
Thx Terry
