Hi Andy
How about some info about the up coming Island trip for us islanders who are not payed up members of the clan. (We might want to play to).
This members only thing kind of discourages new folks from joining if they can not even see what's up and how much fun we all have.
Talk soon Victor

Hi Victor, that's a good question which I will try to explain ...
Paid Club members have completed the waiver form (part of the membership form) which is required for drivers on our club trips.
Lots of other perks for club members, as well as supporting your local Land Rover club it includes early email notifications regarding club events, a dozen organized trips every year, 3 mailed out Newsletters every year and some parts / servicing discounts and a good feeling inside
Current club Membership is really quite good value at only .77 cents per week (will be going up to .96 cents per week next year),
Cheers,
Andy

Howdy Andy
It is a great deal, just for the magazines alone, they are wonderful. The club is very well ran and organized... good job you guys.
I know about the waiver thing which sole purpose is to protect the club from being sued if some body does something silly on the trail and tries to blame it on the club, that's also why the club has to buy extra insurance in case they do get sued anyway.......... but I still dont understand all the secrecy about where the trips are going.
Doesn't matter, it would have been nice to have maybe meet you guys just for coffee somewhere while your here, have fun when you get over here, the Island is beautiful in the summer.
We shall see all you guys again next year at The "22nd annual Van Isle Land Rover Rally". :D
Likely in May again, that seemed to work out just fine the roads where not closed yet for the fire season.

Hi Greg M
My point exactly. If you want to attract new members you need to show them its worth it, you need to make events assessable, give folks a chance to come out and see if they like the club, the folks in it, the various drives and camps, before you start asking for membership fees so they can even find out where to meet up.
Making events secret is not the way to do it. If you put on a car show you advertise it, other wise its a flop.
Anyway keep on Rovering, dont forget about Brits on the Beach in Beautiful downtown Ladysmith next Sunday July 14th hundreds of beautiful british cars and Land Rovers and its ....................free. :)
