Time for Tuk?

I know that this was discussed a few years back but c@v!d stopped the trip so now that is behind us is there any interest in staging a Vancouver to Tuktoyuktuk trip? From what I understand it’s a long haul and mostly, though at times dusty, road trip. Just putting feelers out there to see if there is any interest and also from anyone who has experienced the journey whether it’s worth the time and diesel.

We drove up as far as the Arctic Circle in 2018…went in Sept so no bugs and virtually no traffic on the Dempster Hwy. Campsites closed however the gates were open. We drove the Stewart Cassier Hwy up then the Alaska Hwy back down… Liard Hot Springs a must. An epic drive!

I drove up to Tuk in August of 2023. A 42 day trip that covered over 10,000km. I never had an issue with bugs or traffic although my windshield did get smashed on the Dempster. Still have not replaced it. I did the scenic route, with 9 days in Haida Gwaii, then up Hwy 37 to Stewart, over to Alaska and back into the Yukon. From Dawson City to Tuk and back. Took the main highway home. Dempster was pretty good with some potholes. First 200km through the mountains are very scenic. It then levels off and is a bit less interesting till you get north of Inuvik where the tundra starts. Tuk is an interesting village that still does not really cater to tourists.
