The Four Wheel Drive Association of British Columbia will be hosting our monthly West Harrison Lake Maintenance Run on April 14. As always, we meet at the Sasquatch Inn (approximately 30kms east of Mission on Hwy 7) at 9:30am and depart from there at 10:00 (SHARP!)
This month we will be installing some signs at the trailheads for Sunrise Lake and Hale Creek. I also plan on heading up to Francis Lake to take a preliminary look at that site before the Association adds it to our portfolio -- and depending on the number of participants may attempt to clear the deadfall from the Weaver-Francis Traverse -- a fun connector trail in the area.
If the rain stop this week (we can dream, right????), we'll also be painting the newly installed tables at Hale Creek.
Typically we return to the Sasquatch Inn area by approximately 5pm.
All levels of vehicle capability and driver skill are welcome on these runs -- there are a wide variety of trails in the area which suit most vehicle build levels (from stock to not). Due to the nature of the event, I ask that no alcohol be consumed.
If I can answer any questions about this run or the Four Wheel Drive Association of British Columbia in general, please don't hesitate to drop me a note.
Hope to see you on Saturday morning!

Steve thanks for a great day out and finding a new place for my friends to camp, is always a bonus.
I did get a steak lunch and Shawn's wife cooked Uncle Bens rice on the fire.
When I left them at around 4ish they where at the picnic table talking about the days events with shit eating grins.
Cheers
Andrew & Sadie
P.S I f anyone has the pic of Sadie sitting in the mud puddle I would love it if I could get a copy

Glad to hear everyone had a good time. We headed up to Lookout Lake and found that the road has had significant erosion over the last winter, but it is still "stockable". We then headed around the lake to connect to the south entrance road and meet up with the group that originally went up to Weaver -- and hit deeeeeeep snow. A lot of winching and slogging through show eventually resulted in our meeting the other group at about 5pm. We made it back down to the Sasquatch Inn at around 6:30 and then a few of us took a run up the Chehalis road to look at the washout. I don't think that road is going to last long -- there are a LOT of sections where the "downhill" side of the road is caving in. Rains/snow melt over the next month or so are going to take a serious toll. I'll have a full writeup in the next few days, but all in all it was a great day and a great turnout.....17 trucks!

Thanks again Steve!
I will tell Shawn about the road condition to the lake but I think they will be camping at Hale creek next week as I have a free weekend, so if I manage to get out there next weekend I will make sure we do another clean up.
Don't you love fresh 4X4 blood they are so Jones-in to do the trail as long as I come along.
Cheers
Andrew

Let me know if you want someone to run up there with you.....I may have some time and will likely need to trail-test my new power steering gear by then. Also -- what's Chev owner's name (for my trip report)?????
<edit> just noticed my membership category, "know it all". Wonder if that has something to do with the t-shirt my wife got me earlier this year that says "I may be wrong....but I doubt it." Good times!
