Camping on the Sunshine Coast

#1 Post by John » Fri Jun 15, 2007 8:47 am

Happy Friday!

Friends of mine are wanting to visit the Sunshine Coast for the first time to do a little camping some upcoming weekend. They say they cannot find any Forestry sites listed on their maps. They have a 2 wheel drive pick-up and an aversion to Provincial campsites. Does anyone make any recommendations.

Thanks
John

Hi John,
The Porpoise bay camp site is a great spot just north of sechelt. It has large camping areas & a nice beach. Its not far off the beaten trail but a great base camp for further exploring. After turning right (north) off hway 101 at sechelt it is just a few km's up that road on the left (We pass the camp site when heading to the Bible camp), it is well sign posted.
It is also very popular & booking ahead is recomended.
cheers,
Andy
