Hey guys - planning a run over to Whipsaw. Anyone know if vehicle access is possible along Dewdney Trail between Rossland and Christina Lake? Any other good trails to hit in Southern BC (on my way from AB).
So far the planned route will lead from Banff to Whiteswan Lake and then along the old Fire road to Bull River. Along Chipka creek to St Louis camp rec site then along Teepee creek FSR to Yahk Mtn. Along Gilnockie ridge and over to Yahk. Hop on HWY 3 to Salmo then jump onto Hellroaring Cr road and try to find a way through the backroads over to Fruitvale. Head over to Rossland then pop off on the Dewdney Trail (if access is allowed) to Christina Lake.
Never been in the region and using the Mussio Mapbooks to try to plan a route. Anyone been on any of these trails or have any additional info that would be of use?
Ultimately going to run Whipsaw then cross into WA state for a few days of wheeling there before heading back home.
Should be a good trip.
