Whipsaw damage.

#1 Post by Glenn D. » Sun Sep 16, 2007 11:21 am

Seems I didn't get away unscatherd yesterday at whipsaw.

I bent my Steering track rod! (I'm going to blame it on Joe, my co driver).
I made it home fine, although my tires are not to happy with me.

Thanks to everyone involved in making this happen, It was an awsome time!

Bent Rod!

#2 Post by ANDYD » Sun Sep 16, 2007 8:50 pm

Hi Glenn,

Glad to hear you made it home OK, I bet the Whipsaw has claimed many steering rods in its time! Must of been a tree stump or large rock in the middle of the trail.

Good to see the new engine in action, any leaks or side effects???
How did Joe enjoy his bumpy ride?

cheers,
Andy

My engine was great, comfortable on the freeway, and lots of torque off road. I don't miss the 2.5 NA one bit.

Joe had a great time as well. He thinks you are all a great bunch.

He really wants a Landy, but with another kid on the way think he might have to wait a couple of years. Perhaps he will find an old Series 3 88 he can fix up. Although a Disco 1 might be a cheaper option these days...
