It is becoming apparent that future use of my SII 109 Carawagon is going to be limited during the summer due to the recent addition of two Saint Bernards. The poor pups can't seem to cope with the heat resulting in us taking the A/C equipped car everywhere we go.
So, I have decided to mount a rear A\C set-up out of a van that I will mount into the cupboards of the Carawagon. I can mount the fan and vents to blow directly on the travelling quarters of the pups while directing some of the other air out and forward towards us. I would not want to try and install a conventional system and ducts up front. I would rather retain the original look of the series while having all the A\C system hidden in the back.
Anyone ever done anything similar or know of any commonly found set-up that could work? I haven't looked, but I assume any rear mounted A\C unit should have the length of hoses required to run from the condenser up front to the evaporator mounted in the back? An older system still using a v-belt for the A/C pump would be best.
Any input or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Neil
