Green Mountain Run Saturday October 16th 2010

#1 Post by island dormy » Tue Oct 12, 2010 10:03 am

Looks like we are going to do another fall scenic run. It will be a no scratch run up to the old Green Moutain ski hill. We have done this run before and it's a very nice fall color drive with a 30 minute hike up to the old lodge and ski lifts.
The meeting spot will be in the front parking lot of the Juniper Cafe, (just a mile or so North of the Nanimo airport) which is beside the Cassidy Pub (east side of the road). We will meet between 8:00am and 8:30am. and leave the parking lot at 8:30am Sharp!! The Cafe looked to be under renovations last week and may not be open yet for coffee?
Bring a lunch, some lawn chairs, your camara and hand held radios if you have any.
If you are coming let us know either on here or on the Van Ilse Land rover Yahoo forum. Thanks Victor

Cyndi's working graveyard so I'm not sure if she'll want to go straight from work to the run, but my six-year-old Son Cullen will be there definitely. Any more children coming?

Planned?
Planned??
Who says anything is planned.

Well, I guess the odd thing gets planned, and sometimes follows the plan to some extent. What David is referring to is the gates into the Nanaimo Lakes area being shut and manned. Seems they've been experiencing some vandalism. Hunters, fishermen, sight seer's like us and everyone else is shut out of the area. $100,000 in vandalism recently and the loggers just aren't going to put up with it anymore.

We went to Mount Brenton and Holy Oak Lake instead.
