grease packed or gear oil soaked for lt230 bearings
rebuilding my t-case, can't find the information in the workshop manual. for all bearings in side the case (eg. input gear bearings), do I soak them with gear oil ONLY or They have to be packed with grease? If grease is needed, any specification for the grease? thanks

Hi Andy,
For rebuilding I would say lube the gears as needed when assembling with light oil (Not as sticky) , let it drain, then fill the box when it's all sealed and assembled with a grade of your choice (GL4, 90W, or the like), keep rotating by hand to make sure there is no binding. That way spreading case oil around as it would under normal operations.
Any filings and assembly oil are going to get drained shortly after rebuild break in, say 500km or so, anyways.
I don't know what manuals you have, I'll send some copies of the RAVE manuals I have handy.
