Disco II broke down in a strange town.

I have a 2001 Discovery II that is loosing power while driving and shutting down completely. During the loss of power the radio goes, followed by the heater and dash lights. It then acts like the xyz switch is going out by blinking the transmission drive lights. I had the switch replaced last year, I bought a new battery yesterday, and took off the alternator which trsted good. Any ideas on what is wrong? ecu? please help - I am stranded in a strange town.
