Last week came home to YVR to hard start and stalling Discovery (it's 22:00 Thursday and hm is Chilliwack Ugh!). After about an hour of starting and manually building RPM's.... I get a lumpy idle and power to drive without bucking and stalling yipee! (maybe just damp ignition....but no)
Anyway, next day (no start without prolonged cranking and nasty miss when running) after working through ignition and fuel systems, looked like I had a bad MAF (and it was).
So I know the dealer wants $2000. for a new one ( I know how whacked out is that!)....used from wrecker $250.00 (I already have a used one & it doesn't work).
So my buddy who does a lot of work on Rovers including mine from time to time, suggests we check out this place (its Friday night about 22:00)

And they have a jobber MAF $130. + $10. shipping to Ship Happens, Sumas and Ship Happens charges me $5. so $145.00 total (CBSA didn't charge me tax when I claimed it)
Here was the best part.....I ordered the MAF Friday night.....MAF at Ship Happens by 13:00 Monday......I couldn't have got into Vancouver any sooner than that with out taking a day of work.
Discovery now running well.
BTW I found a badly corroded pin on my fuel pump.....if anyone has a line on a pump new or near new condition let me know.....best online price new $367.00
