Close- I have an HDJ- Turbo direct injectedDoc Tari wrote:Shaping up to be a good sized group! As Ryan mentioned, the weather is suppose to be clear and sunny so it should be a good opportunity to get out and enjoy.
I like diesel 80's... Did I get the model right?
HZJ= Naturally aspirated indirect injected
Both 4.2 litre displacement.
Interestingly, the HZ series diesel is the oldest motor Toyota still produces, Lots of very big forklifts and mine trucks are so equipped.
80 = Left hand drive 81= RHD Japanese spec.
Almost as confusing as Roverspeak!

Hey Bill,
Glad to hear you made it home for the turkey Dinner!
We came out about an hour after you and we didn't find Cam and his water logged Jeep anywhere on the roadside (which is a good sign!).
We made it along the beach quite easily with only Glen getting stuck once and me getting a flat (broke a tyre bead).
On the way back from the beach we came along the "road" instead of the beach and had a mucky winching session in the big mud hole! Brought back memories of that evening spent stuck in the "Mog-Bog".
Just before getting back on the asphalt we did find a Toyota truck on its roof  but ambulance and Fire dept were on scene. Hopefully no one in that group was too badly injured!

Cad and Sham followed me out to the highway, then I turned in to air up and they motored on...so I'm guessing they made it home.
That Jeep sounded like a 300TDi....I kept thinking that jeez my engine was louder than normal only to realize they were behind me
Hope it is not too bad of a repair
Good times, varied terrain and a great turnout of trucks combined with the sunny weather made for a great day.
Cheers

John, your right, we should have spent that hour in Tims instead of getting stuck and muddy! But us young guns just have to learn the hard way! One day we will be old and wise
Dave, good to hear Cam hit the highway louder but still moving...

Hey John I think that was aimed at us. I guess he's right though, we probably shouldn't even try to rationalize owning a Land-Rover let alone spending a day in the mud. Most people think we're crazy as it is and after travelling through little Beirut just to get stuck I'm beginning to see their point :?
