Rover-Landers April Run

#1 Post by Doc Tari » Tue Apr 12, 2011 10:40 pm

It's coming up on a month since our last, well attended, club run so it's time to plan for April. With the weather improving (ever so slowly...) and Easter weekend meaning 3 or 4 days off for most people, an over-nighter may again be an option. Clear Creek on the east side of Harrison has been mentioned as a possibility but no destination has been set yet so suggestions are welcomed. Anyone interested? Over-nighter or one day? Weekend preferred? If we opt for the long weekend, do we want to consider a longer trek?

Pete

I would love to make a day trip, but as our son was born last week I suspect I'll have to re prioritize! Might have to de- commission the truck for a bit.

Easter weekend I will be up at the Redneck Rampage....next weekend Vegas Trade Show...next weekend Costa Rica.

Back in Mid-May so unfortunately I will not be able to attend.

How about an over-nighter on the Sunshine Coast?
Chilcotin?
Ghost towns or abandoned mines?

Any interest...?

Hey Doc, I'm not ignoring you, I'd be up for a day thing but camping is going to be a bit delayed for me this spring. I'm waiting 'til the skeeters are good and hungry.

Hey Bill,
Thanks for not ignoring me... A one day deal is fine. Kris Mak may be interested in a day outing too and Andy mentioned that he'll be back in town just in time so he may be on board as well. That will be at least 4 of us.

Friday and Saturday are looking beautiful, clear and sunny, and 13C or 14C. Perfect weather to be out wheeling, do you have a preference for the day or destination? As I mentioned in the original post, someone suggested driving to Clear Creek and seeing if we could get through to Spuzzum Creek and out to Hwy 1 near Yale, thoughts?

Regards,
Pete

We'll decide where, when, and if at the meeting Thursday evening.

Hello Pete and co.

If I do not go camping this weekend then I also intend on joining the crew for a day trip or an overnighter. I look forward to hearing where the trip may take us.

Cheers,
Ryan

Hi all,
Since Clear Creek is such a long drive for a one day run, we'll leave that for an over-nighter when the weather is warmer. Instead, we'll try a second attempt at Chehalis Lake via Mystery Creek FSR. We ran into snow last time but could have probably kept going. By now, the snow situation should be quite a bit better. The weather is suppose to be very nice Saturday, 15C + and sunny but take a turn for the worse on Sunday so tomorrow seems like a better choice. We'll meet at the Sasquatch Inn at 9:30 and get on the road by 10:00.
