2000 d2 lines to intake
hopefully someone can help me , just finished the head gaskets , timing chain lifters etc on wifes 2000 d2 , put it all together but noticed on the passenger side of the upper intake right below the breather hose and the brake servo vacuum line another nipple for a 3rd line , i dont remember taking this off i cant find anything that goes on this , whats this supposed to hook up to ? i thought maybe its just supposed to be capped and used for checking engine vacuum at the dealership , can someone let me know what this does i blocked it off right now but it could have been hooked up, the thing has been apart for awhile and my memory isnt the best , now when i started it the oil filter blew a gasket , i had the oil pump apart ? i put the gasket back in the filter and put the filter back on the engine and its fine so maybe i didnt have it tight enough , felt tight i was wondering if the check valve could of jammed in the filter housing , regardless its fine now , but the service engine light came on , it took a couple cranks to start it , new lifters etc nothing primed but it runs good , so how does one go about reseting the check engine light ? unless its on because of the mystery line ... any help with these two items would be appreciated thanks troy

Hi Troy
On my 2001 D2 I have three lines coming off that part of the intake, a breather hose, a brake servo hose and then the third (below the other two) goes into a 90degree fitting and a thin black line which goes around the front of the motor to a small black canister is next to the power steering fluid resevoir.
As far as clearing the check engine light goes I have used a standard OBD2 compliant code reader which has a read-out and erase function with success.
Cheers, Rob
