Coil wiring conections

#1 Post by knightracer_08 » Sun May 27, 2012 2:36 pm

So I'm trying to wire in my new coil however I'm not sure what terminal needs to be connected to where, the old Lucas one had cb and sw terminals, one wire went to the distributor and one to the fuse block, the new coil has pos and neg terminals, what needs to be hooked to what? Thanks

Pos term to fuse block (switched power), neg to distributor.

Thanks got her running, coil gets very hot when hooked up though, not the exact coil but a generic one.
Could it be caused by bad wiring else where or is the series 2 externally resisted?

Coils get quite warm/hot normally (heat dissipates through the case) so likely not a problem.
