Source for British Nuts and Bolts

Does anyone know of a good source in BC, and preferably south Vancouver Island / Victoria for British standard hardware? I'm specifically looking (this time) for 7/16" BSF x 1.3/8" bolts and / or studs & nuts to mount the swivel pin and steering arm to the swivel housing on the front axle of my 1966 Series 2A 88".

While I appreciate anyone offering to sell me theirs, I'm really looking for a retail source so I don't have to continually order through the mail.

You could try fastener force on David st. Not sure they carry BSF hardware but they may be able to get it. I'm sure I have those studs and bolts here used not new though.

I'll bump this and ask: Does anyone in BC put together nuts/bolts/other-weird-fastener "kits" for restoration? I have found a couple places in the UK but so far none local.

I would really, really like to have all the things I will need, all bagged and tagged, all decent quality, plus some sensible substitutions like stainless where appropriate.

I think your best bet is still in the UK...because that's where our trucks were manufactured.

LR Fasteners is the best.

Unless your going for a concours restoration I would just source your nuts and bolts locally. I paid around $150 for all new zinc plated, grade 8 hardware for my truck and just reused the BSF specific nuts and bolts.

still the UK but I've had good experience with buying fasteners from Namrick.co.uk

Hello from Delhi, usually Brisbane.

A quick response re replacement bolts.

Sourcing fasteners outside the UK is usually difficult - LR Fasteners is probably the best from the UK, although the usual postage cost issues arise.

Alternatives where BSF etc is not specifically required can be found but a few words of caution. The zinc plating on a lot of new bolts etc is commonly of lesser quality than the originals (especially from China) and break down quickly. Many of the original chassis bolts were sherardised rather than hot dip galvanised and these are also hard to locate outside the UK. The thread size on hot dip galvanised bolts and nuts is coarser than the sherardised equivalents and hence a tighter fit - the galvanised outer coat is likely to be stripped off when tightening them if forced on to an original sherardised bolt or nut. Finally, stainless finish looks good, hence widely used, but beware of bimetallic corrosion if used to secure Birmabright panels to steel fittings such as the chassis crossmember mounting plates and floors. Probably more so in your application where moisture and road salt is more of an issue than where I live.

Just a thought.
