Replacing window track
The front drivers side window track on my 110 is broken. I have the part, I just have no clue how to replace it. I looked on other forums and they aren't very clear. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Oliver.

Re: Replacing window track
On a Series 2 they're held in with several slot head tapping screws, but a Defender might be completely different.

Re: Replacing window track
Hi Oliver,
Only replacing one vertical track?
They are generally fixed with pop rivets, but you need to ensure that the track is shimmed just right so than the window does not rock forward or rear otherwise they can jam. Old LR doors are an ongoing project.
Have fun, Eric.

There are a few different door styles through the years. First step would be to let us know what type of door you are talking about.

I have the push button type door with the windows that slide up and down.

Each channel should have a couple of screws in them. Then pop the channel piece out.

Re: Replacing window track
If you are talking the black felt (flocked) vertical window channels, you need to pretty much dis-assemble most of the door (including removing the glass, regulator, waist seal, etc.
There are 3 or 4 small self tapping screws buried in the rubber track, drag a skinny screwdriver along the track, you'll feel the screws. Slight chance you may also need to replace the plastic spacers if they get mangled. Once you start pulling this stuff apart, it all starts to destroy it's self.
