Looking for Disco

#1 Post by Dave_F » Fri Oct 20, 2017 9:28 pm

Some of you have met my son Scott, he is Corporal with Lord Strathconas Horse (Recce Squadron) based in Edmonton. Well after a couple of years in, he eventually bought a new Jeep (aaaaacccckkkk) and has been running it for the last few years.

Well Hallelujah he has seen the light, and now wants to sell it and find a Discovery. PRAISE THE GREEN OVAL.

He is looking for a well taken care rig, as he needs something fairly reliable. He understands that with any used truck repairs are inevitable, and is getting fairly handy fixing LAVs...lol

Is there any specific issues that he needs to be aware of with Discoverys?

Either a Disco 1 or 2.

So what's out there?

Thanks in advance.

Rust, rust and more rust. Maybe you can find something clean on the coast, but most everything that age is pretty bad in Alberta. Head gaskets. Electronics. If you want a reliable DD, you will need to find something that someone has put a lot of time and effort into getting everything working well. He might want to swing by the Alberta Club gathering (first Wed of the month) as he might get a line on something well loved. It will also help with the future part supply.
