Creating Room at the front of the engine bay!

#1 Post by RamblerRob » Fri Oct 19, 2018 10:27 pm

Can anybody tell me what my best case scenario is for creating room at the front of an engine bay on a series 2a.
I would like to keep the lights in the grill but I understand there is some room available by trimming the 'buckets' or switching to RRC buckets. Would love to know how much! I've also been looking at LED replacement headlights that look like they should be shallower.

I'm looking at radiator options. Currently I have a defender v8 (i think) rad that is mounted on an angle to get around the PS box. If I got a narrower Rad I could mount it properly and change to a pusher fan in front of the Rad but I'm not sure if that will give me the cooling I will need without taking up extra space. Not exactly a beast of an engine as its only a chev v6.

Not sure if I can get a rad with a core thinner than 2"

Any thoughts or suggestions will be appreciated.

Peter Knowles did this, I think, with his 2A. I believe he has some fabrication / build videos on his YouTube channel 'travelswithgeordie'. Pretty sure he was running a GM V6...
