2.25l diesel fuel inertia/cut off switch

I'm trying to resurrect a 2.25 diesel engine that I have and I don't really know too much about diesels... my question is which way is the cut off switch giving fuel to the injectors (on) and which way is off?

To shut off the fuel you would pull the control cable thus it needs to be pushed in to operate.

The problem with the pull to turn off and push to turn on is that the engine is out of a vehicle and there is no cable to speak of attached to the shutoff switch, so I need to know what the actual physical position is for on off...
