I think my 300 TDI turbo is finished, will know in a few days. the waste gate is stuck and the fan feels a little ruff when you turn it.
The question is, should I up grade to a different turbo or stick with the same one and/or are they worth fixing
Thanks for any advice in advance
Oliver

Re: 300TDI Turbo Question
There are a few options.
Have it rebuilt locally. Probably not the best bang for the buck unless you do most of it yourself.
Buy a CHRA and install it into the housing yourself (pretty easy to do). These are about $300 plus shipping from the UK. http://www.turborebuild.co.uk/webshop/p ... -Core.html
Buy a new turbo. These are around $850 plus shipping.
Buy an upgraded one. About the only thing on the market these days is the Turbo Technics VNT. This gives you boost a bit earlier. They cost about $1900 for the conversion kit plus shipping.
The wastegate should be easy to fix on its own.
