Sandblasting firm for a bulkhead?
Does anyone in the lower mainland (BC only) know of a firm that can sandblast clean a bulkhead?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Sandblasting firm for a bulkhead?
FYI - I found a car resto firm in S Surrey, called Icing on the Car, that let’s you blast large parts yourself in their blasting bay, for a very reasonable hourly rate. Just did my bulkhead and front bumper this morning in 1.5 hrs. You need to supply you own mask/filter, gloves, ear plugs and face shield or blast hood. I wore coveralls and some sand (actually blast media) still got into my private parts.
Picked up some por15 and Eastwood frame seal at KMS Langley on the way home, so am ready to start prepping the bits for paint. Yay!

Just wondering - blasting the aluminum on the series 2 - any thoughts on doing this right and not allowing the panels to warp? Soda? Walnut? etc?

I had everything on my truck blasted before I rebuilt it 10yrs ago. I asked the fellow doing it and he wasn’t worried about the aluminum. He used garnet and just lowered the pressure. Nothing warped. This was a company in Chemanis that does oil rigs and giant things.

What was the company's name in Chemainus Matt? A friend is almost at the paint stripping stage

The fellow I dealt with, appropriately named Garnet, no longer works at the facility. I did call them about 2yrs ago and they seemed to still do blasting.

What prep are you doing on the newly sand lasted parts, Martin? I am guessing you probably don't need to acid etch the metal first since it's pretty bare...bsa_m21 wrote: Wed Jul 22, 2020 3:50 pm Picked up some por15 and Eastwood frame seal at KMS Langley on the way home, so am ready to start prepping the bits for paint. Straight onto the bare metal after a good wash and blow dry. :bounce:oldgravy wrote: Sat Oct 24, 2020 8:21 pmWhat prep are you doing on the newly sand lasted parts, Martin?
