Tub floor replacement
I'm looking to replace the floor on my 2a 88 tub. There has been corrosion due to the supports being replaced with metal - and it has reacted causing a hole.
Any ideas for a better way to do this? I do have a donor tub that I could sacrifice the floor...

Re: Tub floor replacement
Understood. But the originals were replaced with square tube non galvanized steel causing a reaction
My question is how best to replace the floor. Not what the supports are…

Re: Tub floor replacement
Hi Phil,
Depending on how bad it is a good welder can patch holes in the aluminum tub floor, but not a cheap option.
Hard to ship but you can buy a replacement part like this - https://www.bits4landys.co.uk/s2_s3_88_ ... 330267.htm
Depending on how original you want to keep it, in the UK I often saw diamond aluminum panels cut to fit inside and just installed right on top of the old floor with rivets.
Cheers
Andy

You buy the replacement supports from the link I showed and aluminum sheet locally.philchan1974 wrote:Understood. But the originals were replaced with square tube non galvanized steel causing a reaction

Re: Tub floor replacement
The floor on my tub was corroded also . I cut the bottom out and had a welder weld a new floor in and the ribs also. The corrosion went up the sides in a few spots so he welded in a couple of patches. After paint it's barely noticeable.
